Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) today announced the expansion of its Mattel PlayBack program to now include Fisher-Price toys. Fisher-Price joins the Barbie, MEGA and Matchbox brands in the toy take-back initiative, which allows families to extend the life of their Mattel toys after they’ve finished playing with them.

The new program is designed to recover and reuse materials from past Mattel toys in future Mattel products, keep materials from ending up in landfills, and support the company’s goal of achieving 100% recycled plastic materials. recyclable or biobased in its products and packaging in 2030.

To participate in the Mattel PlayBack program, consumers can visit, print a free shipping label, package, and return their oversized Mattel toys to Mattel. Collected toys will be sorted and separated by type of material and treated and recycled responsibly. For materials that cannot be reused as recycled content in new toys, Mattel will recycle those materials into other plastic products or convert them from waste to energy.
